Hey all,
I am happy to tell you that things are going great for Dawn.  She not running yet, but she's walking on her own pretty much all the time. For the last month or so she's been able to manage on her own no matter where she want or needs to go.  She still walks with a bit of a struggle...but she gets stronger every day.  As her endurace builds, so will her efficiency.  If anyone saw her walking when she was a sophomore in High School, that's where she is at.  maybe even a little better.  Her speech is actually much better than it was at that point (untill maybe she gets tired or stressed).

She went on vacatin to spend time with my family in NY for 10 days and had a great time.  When she came back, I was amazed at how much she improved in just 10 days. It's amazing what activity does for you. She was around people all the time, she went into the ocean.  She went tubing, jet skiing.  She had a great vacation. Oh yea...she floated the river just before she went to NY.  She is able to do just about anything she wants to do again.  There may be a few obstacles still ahead, but she will work thorugh them too as she has worked through the rest.

Last time I wrote I told you she got a job at Randals  part-time as a cashier.  She is still working there part-time.  AND she also just got hiredpart-time at Golds GYM. She starts there next week.  She is very excited about that.  AND  that's not all the good news for her....

SHE got accepted at the University of Texas and she starts in the fall semester.  She is so excited about that.  She will be studying to altimately become a physical therapist.
Her speech is still a work in progress, BUT, she talks and is understandable most of the time.  She can talk on the phone.  Today she went to two meeting with professors and she went in on her own and did all the communicating on her own.  She didn't need me.  I was so happy for her (and relieved).

I can honestly say now that the worst of it is over...and she is getting her life back.  She missed alot, so she may feel shes got some catching up to do.  My greatest prayer in that is she finds some well rounds, "realatively sensible" friends that will keep her on the right road so that what mistakes might be made during this process won't set her back.

THANK YOU ALL so much for all the prayers and support you have given us for the last 7 years.  I'm just so glad that I can actually be able to say she's healed.  AND she IS!!!! There was a time,we felt so hopeless.  What a gift we have today.  She was very driven before she got sick...and thank GOD she never gave up.  AND YES...it feels good to be able to thank him and not beg him.

Love and blessings to each and every one of you.
